Today Fox News' Eric Bolling referenced the tragic death of Whitney Houston in a brutal, race-baiting attack on Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA). Bolling said:
"Congresswoman, you saw what happened to Whitney Houston. Step away from the crack pipe, step away from the Xanax, step away from the Lorazepam because it’s going to get you in trouble.”
Shortly after making the statement on this morning's "Fox & Friends," Bolling said he was "just kidding." But it's Bolling who can't seem to step away from dangerous rhetoric that plays on the worst stereotypes about African Americans. Last year, we ran a campaign urging Fox News to fire Bolling after he said President Obama was inviting "hoodlums to the hizzouse," a reference to an official meeting at the White House with the President of Gabon. But for now Fox News is still giving Bolling a platform, and he's still using that platform to spread racist stereotypes and stoke racial division.
