Justice for Mayor Higginbotham

Feb 24 2011

In Waterproof, Louisiana a Black mayor challenged White officials and paid the price. The Mayor was forced out of office, prosecuted on trumped-up charges, and is now sitting in jail -- without bail -- as he waits for his chance to appeal his conviction.

It's like a scene from the 1960s. After being forced to represent himself in trial, Bobby Higginbotham was convicted before a nearly all-White jury in a parish where the majority of residents are Black.

Please call on District Attorney James Paxton to end his bogus prosecution, drop all charges against Higginbotham and consent to his release from jail.

This campaign has concluded.
