Tell Congress: Stop online censorship

Jan 17 2012

UPDATE: The House Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and Senate PROTECT IP Act (PIPA) have been shelved indefinitely.

Congress is on the verge of creating a sweeping, unprecedented online surveillance mechanism that will forever change how we use the Internet, and handing the power to operate it to—the entertainment industry lobby.

Pending anti-piracy legislation would force websites to engage in a tremendous degree of self-censorship to ensure they won’t be subject to serious legal and financial liability, with devastating consequences for free expression. Please demand that Congress block any bill that suppresses our voices online.
