Results: Presidential Primary Poll[ back ]The following graphs show vote allocation of our members according to race, gender, and our members' response to questions about the effect of negative campaigning on their decision, when they made their decision, and if they'd participated in a Presidential or Presidential primary. Race
Members were able to specify a combination of choices for race/ethnicity, including "Black," "White," "Latino," "Asian/Asian-American","Native American," "Arab-American," "Pacific Islander," "Non-native African/Caribbean," "Prefer not to say," and "Other." In this chart, "Other" is used to capture ethnic groups that were not reflected at sufficient levels to yield statistically significant results. 1st Time Voter in Presidential Election
We asked members the following question: "Have you ever voted in a Presidential election before?" The possible answers were "Yes" and "No." 1st Time Primary Voters
We asked members the following question: "Have you ever voted in a primary before?" The possible answers were "Yes" and "No." Timing of Decision
We asked members the following question: "When did you make your decision about which candidates to support?" The possible answers were "Within the last 10 days," "Within the last 2 weeks," and "More than a month ago." The survey went out on early morning on 1-29. Effect of Negative Campaigns on Decisions
We asked members the following question: "Some campaigns have gone "negative" recently. Has that influenced your decision?" The possible answers were "Very much," "Somewhat," and "Not at all." Gender
Members were given the option to specify gender other than male and female, however there were not enough respondents specifying "other" to make a statistically significant conclusion. Age
